Maryland State Publications Depository & Distribution Program

About

The State Publications Depository & Distribution Program (SPDDP) was established by statue in 1982 and is responsible for the collection and distribution of State Publications. The goal of the program is to collect, preserve and disseminate information, regardless of format, to the citizens of Maryland.

Since the program's inception, state documents available for distribution were primarily in print and/or CD-ROM format conversely, a significant amount of this information is now available electronically and in some instances, not available in print. Because of SPDDP's responsibility and the potential loss of valuable information produced by state agencies, the program began to harvest and preserve electronic documents with OCLC's Contentdm (digital collection management software) in 2010. The scope of the information collected will include, but may not be limited to the following subjects: agriculture, education, environment, health, and public safety. Additionally, we collect audit and annual reports from all state agencies.
